The Michigan football team is officially back to work. The Wolverines were on the practice field Wednesday for the first day of fall camp.

Michigan wasn't fully padded up. That likely won't come until this weekend, but we still got a glimpse of the first practice from the official Michigan football account on X. The approximately 45-second video was captioned with, "Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back."

There weren't tons of highlights. There was just one pass thrown by Bryce Underwood, but it was still awesome to see the Wolverines back on the practice field. It's not like there's a ton to glean from the first day of practice but the team looks great.

Underwood is the major storyline surrounding Michigan football this fall. He's part of the quarterback competition along with Mikey Keene and Jake Garcia. Jadyn Davis, the redshirt freshman, was also shown in the video.

Michigan doesn't release a ton of highlights, so fans will have to take what they can get. They didn't even show the entire pass thrown by Underwood.

However, seeing the team back on the field only reinforces that the season is just 31 days away. August 30 will be here before we know it.

Expectations are all over the place for this team. A lot depends on Underwood and the offense. We know the defense will be elite. It might be the best in college football, at least if Rayshaun Benny's hope comes to fruition, but if the offense can just be productive, this team could be dangerous.

Soon enough, we will finally find out, on the field.
