The wait for Michigan football and Oklahoma is almost over.
College Gameday is in the books. Pat McAfee, who is taking on the role of Lee Corso, predicted Oklahoma to win. Nick Saban and Desmond Howard picked the Wolverines.
The guest picker, Trae Young, a former Oklahoma Sooner, predicted that the Sooners would win the game. So, as far as objective analysts, Michigan had more in its favor, not that it matters.
Saban did hit the nail on the head, though. He said he believes Michigan can run the ball on Oklahoma. The Sooners will have Jaydn Ott back, plus two offensive tackles who didn't play last week, but if the Wolverines' front seven can stuff Oklahoma's running game, and Michigan can pound the rock, that's the recipe for success.
Bryce Underwood will be key. But he doesn't need to win this game. His main job is to pick up some key third downs and not turn the ball over.
Michigan beat Alabama and Ohio State with virtually zero passing game. The Wolverines know how to win ugly. It will look prettier with Underwood playing quarterback, but as long as Michigan wins the battle of the trenches, it will win this game.
Of course, that's easier said than done especially against a team like Oklahoma, although both of OU's starting tackles are expected to make their first start of the season after missing last week.
Michigan vs. Oklahoma odds
The odds have shifted around. Oklahoma was a 6.5-point favorite. The line dipped down to 4.5 but is now 5.5. The over/under is 43.5. Kickoff time is set for 7:30 PM EST on ABC.
I've got Michigan winning the game 20-16.
