It feels almost unanimous that Oklahoma is going to beat Michigan football on Saturday night in Norman.

That's a reasonable pick. The Sooners are the favorite. John Mateer, the transfer quarterback, is a big-time upgrade from last season, just like Bryce Underwood is an upgrade for Michigan.

This feels like a toss-up. Often, these games go to the home team. That's why many are likely picking the Sooners, at least among the national media, although two of the six writers from Michigan's On3 site also picked Oklahoma to win the game.

OU is a 4.5-point favorite. The line has moved a little in Michigan's direction, but the general idea is that Brent Venables history of shutting down elite quarterbacks will slow down Bryce Underwood enough for Oklahoma to win the game.

That could happen. But here are three reasons why Michigan will shock the experts by beating the Sooners on Saturday night.

Bryce Underwood isn't an ordinary freshman

You can say it was just New Mexico, but Underwood did things that you would expect from a second or third-year starter. There will be freshman mistakes. He will get tricked, maybe even Saturday night.

That's just going to happen. Quarterbacks aren't perfect. Underwood might get himself in trouble because of his arm talent, trying to make throws he shouldn't, but he didn't do that last week.

Underwood might not be as prolific throwing the ball this week. Yet, after not running the ball, you have to wonder if Michigan will give him the chance to run on Saturday night, especially in some key situations like the Wolverines used to do with J.J. McCarthy.
