The Bryce Underwood era starts in 10 days for Michigan football.
The Wolverines haven't announced the former No. 1 overall recruit as the starting quarterback yet, but that will come soon enough as Sherrone Moore is expected to make that announcement next Monday.
It's what we all expected to happen when Underwood flipped from LSU to Michigan. He's just too good, and too talented to sit.
Even Urban Meyer is excited about Bryce Underwood
The five-star quarterback has been a hot topic this offseason. it's hard to predict how he will fare as a true freshman, but even Urban Meyer, the former Ohio State head coach, couldn't hide his excitement for Underwood.
"He’s a guy that I’ve watched high school film on and he has it all,” Meyer said on the Triple Option Podcast this week. “So, I can’t wait to watch him play.”
The 6-foot-4, 228-pound quarterback hasn't been named the starting QB, something Meyer found "shocking."
“I think I read somewhere that he has not been named the starter,” Meyer said. “Which is shocking to me. If the numbers I’ve seen to play that player, the quarterback, the quarterback for the Wolverines, and not be starting.”
Moore, like his predecessor, hasn't been in a rush to name a starting quarterback. Yet, every single Michigan football fan knows who it will be.
Underwood just turned 18 years old this week and it's clear that he's the No. 1 option for Michigan football. He's just special or different or whatever adjective you want to use.
Ohio State fans want to deny it but even their hero can't hide his excitement for the Bryce Underwood era.
