In a sense, Michigan football is having to play catch-up in the 2027 recruiting class.

The Wolverines have an entirely new staff. They. have to work on building relationships with recruits who have been offered or even committed, along with finding new targets to identity.

Spring is a critical part of the recruiting calendar. Ideally, you want players on campus during the spring, then back again for an official visit in the summer.

So the next few weeks are critically important as the Wolverines set their board for the 2027 class, without the usual amount of time to develop relationships. However, things appear to be on the right track so far.

Michigan is getting some elite players on campus for spring visits. There was a key decommitment at quarterback recently, but the Wolverines have already got some new targets on their board.

4-star WR Quentin Burrell will visit Michigan football this spring

One target who is still on the board at wide receiver is Quentin Burrell, a top-100 wide receiver from the Chicago area. He just included Michigan football in his top 10 released last week.

Burrell is 6-foot-2, 190, and ranked 57th overall via the On3 Industry Rankings in the 2027 class. Notre Dame is the favorite via the Rivals Prediction Machine, but Burrell has made three trips to Ann Arbor, under the previous staff.

Now, Burrell has a fourth visit and is set to return to Michigan on April 2nd, according to Ethan McDowell of The Wolverine.

The blue-chip is also going to visit Notre Dame, Nebraska, Missouri, Vanderbilt, Indiana, Arizona State, Oklahoma, Miami, and LSU. In other words, he will visit all 10 schools that made his top 10, according to Steve Wilfong of On3.com.

Burrell said those visits will help him decide where to take official visits. So, the next visit is a critical one for Michigan if it wants to stay near the top of this recruitment.
