After winning a National Championship, it should come as no surprise that the Michigan Wolverines' leaders are receiving interest from other teams.

That includes Michigan head coach Dusty May, who took over the program just two years ago and has already led the Wolverines back to the pinnacle of the sport.

Just days ago, reports came out that May was receiving interest from the Orlando Magic, who recently fired their head coach, Jamahl Mosley. While that was concerning news to receive, the idea of May going to the NBA just got a whole lot scarier.

The Golden State Warriors, one of the most dominant franchises in the entire league, are reportedly also expressing a newfound interest in poaching May out of Ann Arbor.

Could Dusty May head west to fill Steve Kerr's shoes?

While the Warriors currently have a head coach, unlike the Magic, there have been rumors circulating that Steve Kerr is preparing to step away from the job after 12 years and five NBA Championships.

If Kerr were to step down, possibly announcing his retirement, it seems like Golden State would want May to come to town to fill his shoes.

May has had a meteoric rise through the coaching rankings, taking over at Michigan after leading the FAU Owls to a Cinderella run in the 2023 NCAA Tournament, ending in a loss to the San Diego State Aztecs in the Final Four.

Then, he led the Wolverines, who had virtually fallen out of the postseason picture, to a National Championship in just two years.

It's no wonder that teams at the next level are looking at bringing his winning ways into their programs, and possibly wreaking havoc on the Michigan men's basketball program, which has finally refound its footing.
