Just a year ago, Dave Portnoy pledged an annual $3 million to the Michigan Wolverines in order to continuously recruit the No. 1 quarterback in the country. That quickly led (directly or indirectly) to Bryce Underwood, the No. 1 QB in the class of 2025, committing to UMich.
Now, Portnoy is trying to do something similar with Chris Henry Jr., the No. 2 wide receiver in the class of 2026 and a current Ohio State commit.
Portnoy shared a screenshot of the current Oracle stock value, which has been on the rise over the last few days. He tagged Henry, seemingly offering the young prospect a few shares.
Henry committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes in July of 2023, more than two years ago, and chose the now-defending National Champions over the Wolverines, Texas Longhorns, and even his father's alma mater, the West Virginia Mountaineers.
However, the thought of owning a few stocks at the ripe age of 18 must sound alluring, especially when it comes from a man like Portnoy, who has repeatedly supported the Michigan football program after attending the University.
Portnoy went on to turn himself into a millionaire, founding the company Barstool Sports, which has grown in into one of the biggest digital media sites on sports and culture.

Trying to get Underwood 2.0? https://t.co/wSZv06ft8w
The Barstool founder's ability to continuously pledge some of his money to the Wolverines has clearly paid off. Beyond landing Underwood in 2025, Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore has also received a commitment from the top running back in the class of 2026, Savion Hiter.
Money talks in the new era of college football and it is talking very loudly for Michigan, especially with Portnoy as a public mouthpiece.
Portnoy also joined FOX's Big Noon Kickoff this fall, and was recently barred from walking into The Shoe in Columbus for the show's pregame segment, creating even more conversation around the Wolverines and their rivals, the Buckeyes.
Michigan hosts Ohio State this season, priming the Wolverines with an opportunity to host the biggest recruits in the nation, including Henry. The Big Ten rivals kick off at 11 a.m. CT on Saturday, Nov. 29, and the game will be broadcast on FOX, setting it up for Portnoy to be there on the sidelines.
