Bryce Underwood has allowed Michigan football fans to dream big again. With a five-star quarterback and a five-star running back commitment from this past week, a national championship window feels like it's opening.
But maybe it's already open, because of Underwood.
That sounds like a bold statement. However, in an interview with the Big Ten Network on Friday night, it was Underwood, who didn't shy away from bold statements.
"Nobody's seen a freshman like me."

When asked by Jake Butt, a Michigan football great, what his goal was for the upcoming season, Underwood responded: "Honestly, to shock the world. They have seen a lot of freshman. Nobody's seen a freshman like me."
Underwood, the No. 1 overall recruit in the 2025 class, as well as the No. 1 quarterback, has drawn comparisons to Vince Young and Cam Newton. The 6-foot-4, 228-pound quarterback even has Urban Meyer excited to watch him.
The dual-threat quarterback has been impressive this fall. He has excelled during fall scrimmages, and impressed the Big Ten Network crew that was in Ann Arbor on Friday night.
Underwood hasn't been announced as the starting quarterback for Michigan football yet, but the day is coming. Sherrone Moore said that he would announce the starting quarterback on Monday. Jadyn Davis, Mikey Keene, and Jake Garcia have competed with the five-star freshman.
Despite that, Underwood is in a class by himself, at least on this Michigan football team. He's the best option and gives the Wolverines the best chance to win right now.
Underwood said he wants to "shock the world." By the end of the season, maybe he will.
