You love to see it! Over the weekend, the Michigan Wolverines got one of the commitments they hoping for in the transfer portal. Former Texas Longhorns wide receiver Jaime Ffrench is now taking his talents to Ann Arbor. He will have four years of eligibility to play for new head coach Kyle Whittingham, as well as being able to catch passes from Bryce Underwood for as long as he is there.

Underwood reacted accordingly to the news of Ffrench committing to Michigan over the weekend.

Ffrench is originally from Jacksonville. He committed to Texas out of high school where he only appeared in four games for Steve Sarkisian's team last season. While playing in another part of the country than he is used could take some time to adjust, it was so beyond crucial for Michigan to land a player of his caliber at this key position group in the transfer portal. They can finally build forward.

Let's unpack what the connection between Underwood and Ffrench may look like for the Wolverines.

Bryce Underwood could not be more excited about landing Jaime Ffrench

When Underwood committed to Michigan, he was hoping he could become a first-round pick and help the Wolverines win another national championship. While that is still very much in play for him over the next three years, his first season in Ann Arbor was disjointed to say the very least. This was a construct of him being asked to run an ultra-conservative offense under Sherrone Moore's guidance.

Although Whittingham favors the other side of the ball, any time the Utah Utes were even the least bit good under his watch, they could move the ball accordingly on offense. Having a balanced and multi-faceted attack was key in Utah becoming a power in the old Pac-12 and in the new Big 12. In a way, he is the perfect kind of head coach to lead Michigan into this new era. It should be all about Underwood.

One of the biggest reasons why Whittingham took this job is because he could have players the caliber of Underwood commit to Michigan out of high school, as well as others like Ffrench come to Ann Arbor out of the portal. This team will be shaped by his influence, but the connection between Underwood and Ffrench has to become a driving point of this offense. The Wolverines really need it.

Underwood could use Ffrench to create a more vibrant passing game for Michigan moving forward.
