Get ready to deal with some snow! That is very much in play now for former Texas wide receiver Jaime Ffrench. The Jacksonville native spent last season in Austin before hitting the portal with all four years of eligibility remaining. One of the teams who seems to be the most in on him has to be the Michigan Wolverines. They brought him up for a visit. He shared this video from inside The Big House.
Snow is something he is clearly not used to, but getting to see some inside The Big House is special.
#Texas WR transfer Jaime Ffrench arrived to #Michigan yesterday and now he’s checking out the Big House this morning via his IG story.

With former Utah Utes head coach Kyle Whittingham taking over in Ann Arbor earlier this month in the wake of the Sherrone Moore scandal, he has to remake this football team in a hurry. It is all about surrounding second-year starting quarterback Bryce Underwood with as much talent as possible. French could be one of the players to help bring along Michigan's underwhelming passing attack.
The good news for Michigan and Ffrench is he will not be playing in frigid home games come January.
Michigan has to continue to prioritize landing Jaime Ffrench in the portal
At this stage of the game, Michigan has plenty of positions to backfill on this new roster. In the early afternoon on Sunday, Michigan had 14 players from last year's team enter the transfer portal. Nine of these 14 players have either committed elsewhere or have already enrolled at a new school. So far, the only two guy to commit to Michigan are John Henry Daley and Taylor Tatum from Utah and OU.
Daley plays out on the edge and just played for Whittingham in Salt Lake. Tatum played in the backfield for Brent Venables in Norman. While both plays can come in and help make a difference for this team, the Wolverines really need a player of Ffrench's pedigree to pick Michigan to help solidify the talent around Underwood. Michigan is as big of a brand as Texas, so it should not be a deterrent.
Overall, Michigan is the type of program where it needs to compete on a national scale when it comes to well-thought-of recruits. Utah does not have the same amount of players in-state, but this is a step up from what Whittingham was dealing with for decades in Salt Lake City. In short, he and his staff need to be able to land a disgruntled player formerly at Texas from Jacksonville, just to prove it can.
Only time will tell if Ffrench does end up picking the Wolverines out of the transfer portal in the end.
