Michigan football is in the middle of preparations for a huge game on Saturday against Nebraska, but the Wolverines are busy on the recruiting trail, too.
Michigan is aiming to flip a Michigan State commitment. Four-star linebacker Braylon Hodge was offered by the Wolverines last week. He was excited about the offer, based on his comments, and now, he's expected to visit Ann Arbor.
But even as the Wolverines are trying to flip a commitment from Michigan State, some other Big Ten rivals are targeting Michigan commitments. Julian Walker, a four-star EDGE, was offered by Nebraska last week. He also visited South Carolina the past two weekends.
Rivals targeting elite Michigan commitment
Another recruit that Michigan football fans might need to worry about in the 2026 class is four-star defensive lineman Titan Davis.
The 6-foot-4.5, 270-pound defensive tackle from Missouri is ranked No. 106 overall, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. The recruitment of Davis essentially came down to Alabama and Michigan.
It was one of the Wolverines biggest wins on the trail in the 2026 cycle. Davis has the potential to be a dominant defensive tackle. It's understandable why other programs are still pushing for his commitment. Alabama is among them. Penn State is, too, along with Nebraska, which doesn't have any D-line commitments in the 2026 class.
Greg Smith of Rivals reported that Alabama and Penn State were making a push. However, Davis told the Rivals reporter that he hasn't planned any visits yet.
“I’m not sure yet if I’ll visit any of them," Davis told Smith.
If he does, then it will be time for Michigan football fans to worry.
