Michigan football only has five commitments currently in the 2026 recruiting class, and one of those could be in jeopardy.
Four-star cornerback Brody Jennings, a 6-foot-1, 175-pound cornerback from Jacksonville, Florida, has been committed Michigan Wolverines since last summer.
However, other programs have been pushing for his commitment. Florida is one. Auburn is another. The Tigers have been making some progress and even hosted Jennings for an official visit this past weekend.
“It definitely checked all my boxes. And not only did I love the visit, but my family loved the visit. Everybody loved the visit," Jennings told Jeffrey Lee about his visit.
Auburn trying to flip a Michigan football commitment
According to 247 Sports, Auburn made a "big move" with the Michigan football commitment this past weekend. However, the Tigers aren't the only team that Jennings will visit. He also took an official visit to Illinois earlier this spring. The four-star cornerback also has official visits scheduled with Alabama, Georgia, and Florida before he will visit Michigan football on June 20th.
The Michigan Wolverines aren't out of it. But you generally don't want to see your commitments taking official visits to other programs, let alone four SEC powers. They will at least get the final visit, but it's starting to feel like the Wolverines are losing their grip on one of their top 2026 commitments.
One of their only 2026 commitments. They are trending up with other recruits in the class, but their NIL strategy has made it difficult to close and heading into June, that needs to be rectified.
