5-star WR Dakota Guerrant wasn't the only game-day visitor impressed by Michigan's win over OU

The win for Michigan over No. 11 Oklahoma was big for the Wolverines in more ways than one. It helped Michigan get back into the AP Top 25, jumping to No. 19, but with so many recruits in Ann Arbor on Saturday, it certainly can't hurt the recruiting scene for the Wolverines.

Even Kyle Whittingham knows how big of a win it was for Michigan on Saturday when it comes to the recruiting game. While his attention was on the game against the Sooners, Whittingham knew he had plenty of prospects to impress in The Big House, including a few five-stars like 2027 Oregon commit Dakota Geurrant, whom Whittingham is working hard to flip.

"Very positive," Whittingham said about the impact of the win on recruiting. "We had a ton of recruits at the game Saturday, and they were all with us in the locker room afterwards, and it was a great locker room."

The locker room certainly wasn't hooting and hollering last week after the Western Michigan game, even after the miracle Hail Mary for the win. This week, Michigan was able to take care of business, and do so in front of potential future Wolverines. The win over Oklahoma was huge in more ways than one.

Hosting recruits with No. 11 Oklahoma in town ended up paying off big-time for Kyle Whittingham

Michigan has no shortage of premier matchups to host recruits for this season. Oklahoma happened to be the first, and Whittingham had quite the lineup on campus. Four-star 2027 commit Kamden Lopati was the biggest recruit currently committed to the Wolverines.

Lopati absolutely loved the atmosphere, saying it was a joy to hear the fans around them calling the recruits "the future of Michigan."

"It was AMAZING to be in that environment!" Lopati said. "To be there in front of 100,000-plus people is just insane."

Antijuan Wilkes Jr., the No. 1 offensive tackle in the country, made his way to Ann Arbor this weekend. It was a big weekend for the offensive line, who put on a show against a tough Oklahoma defense. After a rough performance in Week 1, Jim Harding's group looked like it was finally gelling, giving Bryce Underwood way more time to make his decisions.

It is early in the season, but Wilkes believed this was the best game he has been to thus far.

In a crazy turn of events, five-star WR Florida commit Armani Strong was in town for Michigan's upset win. Strong has been committed to the Gators since late June, but with game day visits scheduled, like the one to Michigan, a flip option is there.

Dakota Guerrant was the highest-ranked recruit in Ann Arbor this weekend. As a five-star homegrown recruit, Whittingham has been after Guerrant since coming to Michigan, but when it came down to it, he chose Oregon over the Wolverines.

Now, with the loss the Ducks suffered on Saturday and Michigan getting the upset win over the Sooners, it was the perfect time for Guerrant to be in town.

The win over Oklahoma may not seal anything for any of these recruits, but it could have moved the needle towards the Wolverines.
