Michigan could have earned a win in more ways than one with the upset victory over No. 11 Oklahoma on Saturday. The Wolverines hosted multiple top recruits for game-day visits with the Sooners in town, one being five-star WR Oregon commit Dakota Guerrant, Kyle Whittingham's biggest 2027 miss.

Committed is not signed, though, and Michigan isn't giving up on the idea of flipping Guerrant, especially being a Michigan native. After Saturday's slate of games, that dream could become more of a reality than some might think.

Michigan hosted Guerrant on a day when they took down No. 11 Oklahoma in a big-time matchup, and No. 6 Oregon, the team Guerrant is currently committed to, lost to Oklahoma State, that's right, the Oklahoma State that won just one game last season.

Granted, one weekend of games may not be enough to swap Guerrant to Ann Arbor, but if Michigan can keep winning, and Oregon continues to look the way they have the last two weeks, maybe a change of heart is in the works for the five-star receiver.

A Dakota Guerrant flip would be huge for Michigan's 2027 recruiting class that lacks 5-star talent

Kyle Whittingham did a fantastic job coming in later to the 2027 recruiting cycle at Michigan adn still building the No. 11 class in the country, according to 247Sports Composite Team rankings. Not only did he build a class ranked so high, but he did so with no five-star talent.

That is right, the highest-ranked recruit for Whittingham is offensive tackle Jakari Lipsey, followed by four-star cornerback Monsanna Torbert Jr. So a flip from Guerrant to Michigan would be huge for Whittingham and his staff, adn the future of the Wolverines offense.

While Michigan hasn't looked spectacular on offense in the first two weeks of the season, the improvement was there from the Western Michigan game to the Oklahoma game. Plus, it should be noted that Oklahoma head coach Brent Venables is one of the best defensive-minded head coaches in college football, and that was not an easy defense to take on.

Oregon certainly hasn't looked good on offense in the first two weeks of the season, with quarterback Dante Moore being the center of the struggles. The loss to Oklahoma State was truly tragic for the Ducks, and ona. day where Ohio State also lost and Michigan game out on top, the Wolverines should be feeling good all the way around.

There is still a lot of work to do in order to get a flip from Guerrant because a game -day visit isn't too telling, but maybe the performance of his top two teams shook things up a bit. Might even be enough to put Guerrant on flip watch.
