One of the recent additions to Victors Weekend won't be making the trip after all.

Cornerback Larry Moon, a four-star cornerback from the IMG Academy, visited Michigan football earlier this week for a unofficial visit.

He was scheduled to come back to Ann Arbor this weekend for an official visit, but now that visit won't be happening after Moon announced a commitment to Georgia Tech on Thursday.

What this means for Michgan football

Michigan fans could read this one of two ways. Yes, it's a bummer that the Wolverines are out of the running with Moon, a talented cornerback with an impressive offer list.

Yet, Michigan football got in the mix late. They offered a long time ago, but Moon wasn't at the top of the board for months like Joshua Dobson.

The problem is that you got the feeling that Moon was a backup plan in case Dobson decides to commit to Texas A&M or South Carolina, two of the teams battling Michigan football for the commitment of the five-star cornerback from North Carolina.

The Wolverines are looking to add at least one more cornerback in the 2027 class, but with the current trend, that might not happen. It felt like Michgan football built some momentum on Dobson's official visit, but it can be hard to maintain that.

Texas A&M received numerous expert projections for the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine after his official visit, giving the Aggies an 86-percent chance to land his commitment. South Carolina is hosting him for a visit this weekend.

It should be one of those two teams or Michigan. Another four-star cornerback to keep an eye on is Monsanna Torbert, a 5-foot-10, 175-pound cornerback from Cincinnati. Ranked No. 91 overall via the Rivals Industry Rankings, Torbert just visited Ohio State. Even worse, he started trending to the Buckeyes after that visit, to the point that it was unclear if he would visit Michigan football.

The Buckeyes have a 96.5 percent chance of landing Torbert. Michigan could overcome that, but the Wolverines will need to knock it out of the park on this weekend's visit.

Dobson is still on the board, although 247 Sports has him set to commit on July 1st. It's hard to know if that's good or bad for Michigan, but if the Wolverines don't land Torbert or Dobson, they will have to look at expanding the board. Moon's commitment to Georgia Tech only makes it more likely.
