Michigan football is on fire on the recruiting trail right now and here are three thoughts on the Wolverines flipping Nate Marshall from Auburn. Or back from Auburn.

The tables have turned

EJ Holland of The Wolverine teased that there could be a couple of surprises on Signing Day. Maybe this is one of the surprises he was referring to.

Either way, it was a good surprise. Michigan needed to add another pass rusher and Marshall is an ideal fit, just like when committed earlier this cycle.

Auburn was able to flip him and it doesn't take a genius to realize NIL was a factor. This was a recruitment Michigan should have won all along. If Michigan had the NIL operation earlier, I doubt Marshall even flips.

Now that NIL is a very real thing, Michigan football is recruiting like Michigan football but even this kind of momentum was hard to foresee.

A couple moths ago, nobody would have thought this was possible. We have talked about what will happen if Michigan football starts getting elite talent.

Well, buckle up, because it's happening.
