The past few weeks have been a dream for Michigan football. First, the Wolverines flipped five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood, the top QB and No. 1 overall recruit in the 2025 class.
Then, as a 20.5-point underdog, against the greatest team money could buy, the best college team ever if you listened to Urban Meyer before the season, Michigan football upset second-ranked Ohio Sate, beating the Buckeyes for a fourth straight year.
All the crying from Ohio has made the past few days enjoyable enough, including this gem from the Eleven Warriors podcast talking about how Ryan Day is actually only 0-1 or 0-2 against Michigan football. Seriously. They also said this was the first "bad loss" to Michigan.
Whatever you need to make it through the day Buckeye fans.
More recruiting buzz for Michigan football
Michigan football fans, on the other hand, have even more to be excited about as Early Signing Day is fast approaching. It's on Wednesday. Underwood signing will be the big news but Michigan has now been projected to land another five-star recruit, this time Alabama offensive tackle commitment Ty Haywood.
Haywood is 6-foot-5, 285 pounds out of Denton, Texas. He's the fourth-ranked offensive tackle and told EJ Holland of The Wolverine that he won't sign on Wednesday.
That's actually good news for the Michigan Wolverines. According to Alabama's On3 reporter, the coaching staff doesn't expect Haywood in the class. Holland has logged a prediction for the On3 prediction machine for Haywood to flip but he's the only one right now.
Holland teased other good news though telling Josh Newberg of On3 that Michigan football could get a "a surprise or two" on signing day.
Holland also told Newberg that the NIL deals for Haywood and Bryce Underwood "are on another level" giving Michigan Wolverines fans another reason to feel good about ultimately flipping the five-star offensive tackle.
