The recruiting season is heating up, and for new Michigan head coach Kyle Whittingham, it looks like it could be a big one. After taking the job later in the coaching cycle than most programs, Whittingham started a little behind the game, but has since caught up nicely.

Even with the late start and some players choosing to decommit after the Sherrone Moore firing, the Wolverines have seven players already committed in the Class of 2027, giving them the No. 31 class in the nation according to 247Sports.

With the heart of the 2027 recruiting cycle coming up, it is time for Whittingham to make up even more ground after his late start. The month of May is shaping up to be a big one as the Wolverines have three four-star recruits announcing commitments with Michigan in their top choices.

Michigan has just two four-star recruits in the 2027 recruiting class, and with these announcements coming soon, the Wolverines could add three more.

Here is a little breakdown of when each recruit will announce his commitment and the schools Michigan is up against.

4-star wide receiver Quentin Burrell

Quentin Burrell will make his commitment announcement on Wednesday, May 13, live on the Rivals YouTube channel. Burrell narrowed his top choices list down to Michigan, Notre Dame, Arizona State, and Missouri.

The four-star wide receiver is the No. 83 recruit in the 2027 class, the No. 14 wide receiver in the class, and the No. 6 player in the state of Illinois, according to 247Sports Composite recruiting rankings.

Burrell brings. alot tot he table and would be a great weapon for whoever will be the Michigan quarterback of the future. There is hope Michigan can bring back a high-powered offense under Whittingham, and Burrell could very well be a part of that.

4-star cornerback Tavares Harrington

Tavares Harrington has set his commitment date for later in the month, on May 22, and he is down to three schools: Michigan, Notre Dame, and Alabama. Harrington is the No. 124 recruit in the Class of 2027, the No. 15 cornerback in the class, and the No. 7 player in the state of Illinois, according to 247Sports Composite recruiting rankings.

This is going to be a tough battle for Whittingham and Michigan, as Notre Dame and Alabama have been on recruiting hot streaks as of late. Marcus Freeman and Kalen DeBoer will be tough coaches to beat out, but Whittingham has proved he has hit another gear when it comes to recruiting.

4-star running back Tyson Robinson

Tyson Robinson has yet to set a hard commitment date in the month of May, but it is believed to be coming this month. Robinson is down to six teams, choosing between Arizona State, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Miami, Texas A&M, and Michigan.

The four-star running back is ranked as the No. 224 player in the 2027 recruiting class, the No. 15 running back in the class, and the No. 8 player in the state of Mississippi, according to 247Sports Composite recruiting rankings.

Robinson is choosing between a lot of schools right now, and Michigan is going to have to make a hard push for this running back recruit.
