Michigan football is 10-0 once again, the same spot they were in a year ago, after defeating Penn State in Happy Valley 24-15

The Wolverines embodied the “play angry” mantra on Saturday. In the second half, the offense lowered their shoulders and ran the ball down the Nittany Lions’ throat. They only attempted to throw the ball one time and a penalty was called on the defense, which was accepted, so the play didn’t count.

Despite only scoring 10 points by running the ball the entire second half, the Michigan offense was able to take a ton of time off the clock. This isn’t a recipe I intend to see again, but it does show that Michigan football is willing to stick with the run that has brought them success in recent years.

On the defensive side of the ball, “play angry” was taken seriously as well. The Wolverines only allowed a garbage-time touchdown in the second half. They came up big on second and third down all game long, as well as having to get some big stops on 2-point conversions (despite their stupidity).

Michigan football must continue to “play angry” as The Game approaches

Michigan stays on the road as they take on Maryland next week, just one week before The Game against Ohio State. Maryland just snapped their four-game losing streak as they defeated Nebraska with a last-second field goal.

The Wolverines have to “play angry” once again, with or without Jim Harbaugh. No matter what happens with the court decision, the football team needs to play with a chip on their shoulder.

Not having Harbaugh on the sidelines on Saturday gave them some extra motivation with all that is going on around the football program, but despite that, nobody wants to see them win and everybody wants to see their season fall apart.

In two weeks, Ohio State will be looking to end their two-game losing streak to Michigan, the Buckeyes will be playing angry. Michigan football needs to “play angry” as well considering that Ryan Day was one of the coaches leading the charge for action against Michigan during the Big Ten coaches’ “Zoom” meeting with commissioner Tony Petitti.

All of the Big Ten coaches and universities wanted the Big Ten to take action against Michigan, so in response, Michigan should continue to “play angry” and punish every team in their way for being responsible for the Wolverines being without their head coach.
