3. J.J. McCarthy has another 90 QBR game

You have to feel good about J.J. McCarthy as a Michigan football fan and good maybe isn’t a strong enough word to describe it.

McCarthy, simply put, is the best quarterback Michigan has had in my lifetime. I was born in 1986. Jim Harbaugh was pretty darn good. There have been others too, but McCarthy is getting talked about as a top-10 pick (just like I told you all this summer) and that’s new.

Jim Harbaugh wasn’t lying when he said McCarthy was a once-in-a-generation quarterback. This is probably going to be his last season because he’s simply that good.

As far as the Minnesota game, the Gophers are allowing 1.8 touchdown passes per game. Minnesota does have eight interceptions on the season but is allowing 234 yards per game.

So McCarthy has to be careful with the ball. But he will be and he’ll throw two touchdowns for the second straight week, as well as posting a QBR of better than 90 for the fifth time in six games.

McCarthy is No. 1 in QBR right now and he’ll have another solid outing Saturday night.
