Michigan Wolverines news: Jake Moody is money in the NFL, plus more
Michigan football alum Jake Moody has been spectacular for the 49ers through two games, plus we have more Michigan Wolverines news.
Some people might have questioned why the 49ers drafted a kicker in the third round, but after two weeks the selection of Michigan football kicker Jake Moody looks pretty good.
So far, Moody hasn’t missed a field goal or a missed extra point through two weeks, and in the Niners win over the Rams on Sunday, Moody connected on a 57-yarder.
Michigan football fans know what a luxury is it to have Moody on the roster. The former Michigan Wolverines standout has translated that success to the NFL, just like we all knew that he would and so far, that’s looking like a smart pick for the 2-0 49ers.
Another former Michigan football alum, Kwity Paye, had a highlight-reel moment too as he was able to notch a sack of former Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud.
It seems like wherever Stroud goes, the Michigan Wolverines will be sacking him. Another former Michigan football player, Luke Schoonmaker, caught a touchdown pass in the Dallas Cowboys win over the New York Jets on Sunday.

ESPN Projections Michigan Wolverines to national title game
Michigan football maybe hasn’t played as well as some have expected, but the Wolverines are 3-0 and they have only allowed 16 points this season.
J.J. McCarthy had a bad game on Saturday night. There’s no getting around it, but McCarthy will learn from it and get better.
That being said, ESPN still views the Wolverines as a top-2 team in college football. ESPN unanimously projects Michigan football to play USC in the Rose Bowl, before winning that matchup to take on Georgia for the national championship.
Michigan football will certainly need to be sharper. But the defense has been extraordinary and Blake Corum looked even more like himself in the win over Bowling Green, so there are plenty of reasons for optimism going into the Michigan Wolverines’ Big Ten opener.
