Michigan Wolverines news: Aaron Scott locks in decision date, a key OL trends away, and more
One of the top Michigan football recruiting targets has set a decision date, plus a 4-star is trending away and more in our Michigan Wolverines news roundup.
When it comes to elite cornerback Aaron Scott, one of the top Michigan football targets left on the board in the 2024 recruiting class, the wait for a commitment will be a little longer.
Scott was talking about making a decision in early July. Yet, he said if the decision was difficult, he could push it to the end of the month and that’s what Scott did on Thursday, announcing a commitment date of July 30th.
That’s when the four-star cornerback from Ohio will decide between Michigan football and the Buckeyes.
The Michigan Wolverines have done a great job of getting themselves among the top two. There are reasons to feel optimistic too as a Michigan football fan.
However, there’s a lot of pressure on top recruits like Scott to stay in Ohio so we’ll see, but it would be a massive commitment if the Michigan Wolverines are able to get it.
The Michigan Wolverines should also get some clarity at the cornerback position this weekend as a couple of other targets are set to announce their commitments.
A top Michigan football target is announcing on Friday
Four-star offensive line target Michael Uini will announce his commitment on Friday and will choose between Michigan football, Georgia, and Alabama.
The Bulldogs are trending as the favorite here. Michigan had some momentum after Uini took an official visit but it didn’t hold. Alabama was scheduled for an official visit in the fall, but we’ll see if that happens and it’s pretty clear where this is headed.
It’s a miss that stings, but if Michigan football is able to land Bennett Warren, that will make up for it, so that’s a name to keep an eye on going foward.
