3-Star DL Deyvid Palepale

There has been plenty of Drama in this recruitment. Palepale, who moved from Alaska to Pennsylvania, has a final three of Michigan football, USC, and Penn State. Geographically, Michigan is at the biggest disadvantage.

Palepale has family near USC and obviously lives in Pennsylvania, putting Michigan at a disadvantage. Honestly, it seems like if Michigan didn’t have that disadvantage, they’d be the runaway favorite for Palepale.

Palepale is scheduled to commit on July 1st, and at this point, it’s anyone’s guess. Michigan football was the heavy favorite after his official visit and tons of predictions came flooding in for the Wolverines, however, Penn State was able to retake the momentum.

The Michigan staff is continuing to keep in close contact with Palepale, as they’ll have to win him over on the phone. Defensive line coach Mike Elston has done a great job in this recruitment, and the Wolverines are going to do everything they can to earn a commitment.

I left Palepale off my updated recruiting class prediction, but this one could go either way. Penn State appears to be in the driver’s seat right now, but things can change quickly as we’ve seen. I’d be on the lookout for any updates regarding Palepale.
