Michigan Football: Official visits elsewhere to pay attention to
Some key Michigan football recruiting targets are taking official visits elsewhere and here are the recruits to keep an eye on.
It’s the final weekend of official visits before the dead period starts on Monday. Michigan football has a bunch of key visitors set to be on campus this weekend.
However, there are a number of other top targets that are taking visits elsewhere and there are four in particular that I have my eye on.
Bryce West and Aaron Scott
Most Michigan football fans have been following the recruitment of these two Ohio cornerbacks, or so it seems and the decisions could come down to this weekend.
There’s no doubt that Michigan football made headway with Aaron Scott and Bryce West on their official visits, both top-100 cornerbacks in the 247 Sports composite rankings.
The Wolverines landed Jordan Marshall out of Ohio and some other key recruits in the 2024 class, but stealing West and Scott from Ohio would be a true sea change.
However, all the expert predictions for 247 Sports and On3.com have the Buckeyes sitting in the pole position. Both are visiting Ohio State this weekend and it’s easy to see the Buckeyes building some of their own momentum.
Hopefully, Michigan football can get them both back on campus for unofficial visits (maybe the BBQ in July. If so, there could still be a chance. But it feels like an uphill battle to me.
Jeremiah Beasley
Jeremiah Beasley has been trending to Michigan football with crystal ball projections and his commitment date (June 29) is less than a week away.
The four-star linebacker and top-5 player in the state of Michigan in 2024 out of Belleville has visited Michigan State and will visit Missouri this weekend. This recruitment feels like it’s the Wolverines to lose but we’ll see how things feel coming out of the weekend.
The in-state linebacker is a top priority and after Michigan football missed on Aaron Chiles, they really need to get Beasley in the 2024 class.
Michael Uini
Uini just visited Michigan football and the Wolverines emerged as the favorite. They have gotten multiple crystal ball projections and also have a 95-percent chance to win his commitment according to the On3 prediction machine.
However, a 6-foot-7, 325-pounder has plenty of suitors. He’s out of the state of Texas but Georgia and Alabama might be the biggest threats.
Uini just visited Alabama earlier this week. He’s going to Georgia this weekend and it always freaks me out a little when Georgia is in the mix.
That’s why this is an official visit to watch this weekend because if Georgia fails to make up enough ground, Michigan could be poised to land another stellar offensive lineman.
