Another new crystal ball trend for Michigan Football
Another positive for Michigan football on the recruiting trail as multiple crystal balls have come in for three-star EDGE Devon Baxter.
It seems as though Michigan football has had another successful weekend on the recruiting trail as the Wolverines are trending up with a slew of 2024 recruits.
One of the newest projections is related to four-star offensive tackle Michael Uini, who has received projections to Michigan football from 247 Sports and On3.
Uini would be a nice recruiting win for Michigan football. He’s ranked in the top 200 out of the state of Texas, plus Alabama and Georgia are strongly interested.
While Uini would be a nice addition, Michigan football isn’t really desperate for offensive linemen with five commitments already in 2024.
However, things aren’t quite the same at the EDGE position. There are a lot of potential commitments, yet some clarity is needed.
Some might have come this weekend for Michigan football as the Wolverines hosted three-star EDGE Devon Baxter and are now trending to land his commitment.
Baxter is out of Maryland and is ranked 506th overall in the 247 Sports composite rankings. He’s 6-foot-6, 225 pounds. He’s raw and is credited with just four sacks during his past two seasons of high school football, but his best days are clearly ahead of him.
Baxter took an official visit to Michigan football this weekend and even though a trip looms to Virginia Tech next week, Brian Dohn had heard enough that he’s projected Baxter to the Wolverines, and as we have said before, Dohn knows his stuff.
Steve Lorenz of The Michigan Insider joined Dohn with a crystal ball. Both of the projections came on Sunday and it seems like there is solid intel.
We’ll see how things shake out but Dominic Nichols, Jacob Smith, and Elias Rudolph are all options and have each received a projection to U-M.
I don’t see Michigan football taking all of them and one thing the Wolverines have been willing to do is bet on their development when it comes to EDGE prospects. That’s why Baxter makes so much sense.
