In our latest Michigan Wolverines roundup, we took at the latest recruiting projections for Michigan football, plus another twist with Michigan basketball and Olivier Nkamhoua.

Before we get to the drama with Olivier Nkamhoua and the Michigan basketball team, it was a busy day for the Michigan football team too in terms of recruiting news.

Josh Wallace, the former UMass cornerback who the Michigan Wolverines have been after in the transfer portal is going to decide Wednesday morning (9 AM EST) and all of the expert projections are in the favor of Michigan football.

Wallace will be a really solid addition and a veteran that can compete for that starting job opposite of Will Johnson right away. So be on the lookout for that announcement.

Beyond that, Michigan football saw some movement in the 2024 recruiting class and not all of it was positive.

Four-star EDGE Brian Robinson from the state of Ohio has been a long-time top target. However, despite all his visits and the Michigan Wolverines being the crystal ball favorite for quite some time, there hasn’t been a commitment.

Kentucky has been coming on strong and the Wildcats have a new expert projection from On3 to land Robinson. That’s probably where things are headed and with all the options Michigan football has at EDGE, it’s not a death blow or anything.

It would have been nice to add another blue chip from Ohio though. There was also another blow as elite running back Taylor Tatum was projected to USC. He’ll be visiting Michigan football so there’s time to flip things around, but the Trojans have made a move.

Yet, the Michigan Wolverines did land a new crystal ball projection in their favor from Sam Webb of The Michigan Insider to get Jordan Shipp, a four-star wideout in 2024 that’s teammates with Jadyn Davis.

Shipp just visited last weekend, so this is a really good sign. I’Marion Stewart, another four-star wideout that’s been trending to Michigan football, also announced a decision date of June 16.

Stewart just took a visit to Wisconsin. That seemed to go well but he’ll be visiting Michigan football this weekend. That gives the Michigan Wolverines a chance to close with another top target who’s got four crystal ball projections to U-M.

Michigan basketball is back in the race for Olivier Nkamhoua

Maybe we’ll get the behind-the-scenes notes on what happened during the Olivier Nkamhoua recruitment someday, but according to multiple reports, Michigan basketball is back in the mix for Nkamhoua, one of the top power forwards in the portal from Tennessee.

Nkamhoua reportedly narrowed his list to Baylor and West Virginia on Monday, which sent Michigan basketball fans into a panic.

However, it was reported by Joe Tipon on Tuesday afternoon that Michigan basketball was back in the mix. West Virginia appears to be out of it at this time. Some have even hinted that the Wolverines are in the lead, but we’ve heard that before.

Heck, we heard that the Michigan Wolverines were the favorite this weekend before being eliminated on Monday. I’ll wait for the commitment announcement. But keep your fingers crossed because Michigan needs really this one.

Duncan Robinson, Miami Heat back home for Game 3

The Miami Heat have a chance to take the series lead against the Denver Nuggets tonight in Game 3 of the NBA finals. They have that chance in large part due to the clutch fourth-quarter performance from Michigan basketball alum Duncan Robinson on Sunday.

The former Michigan Wolverines standout, who was Sixth Man of the Year at U-M, scored 10 of the Heat’s first 13 points in the fourth quarter to help erase an eight-point deficit.
