Michigan Football is a finalist for top target at WR in 2024
Michigan football has made the top five for 2024 wide receiver Elijah Moore, who is a top priority for the Wolverines in the 2024 class.
As far as the 2024 Michigan football recruiting class is concerned, the Wolverines are off to a tremendous start. Not only are they ranked No. 1 but they have 17 total commitments.
Michigan football has also landed some key players at key positions. Jadyn Davis is a five-star quarterback. Jordan Marshall is a top-10 running back, while the Wolverines have also landed top-10 commitments from players at offensive tackle and tight end (two).
There are still some positions that need attention though. One is wide receiver. Channing Goodwin recently committed and Jordan Shipp is another priority that plays with Davis.
The Wolverines should still have a good shot to land Shipp and getting Davis in the fold might help in the long run, even though North Carolina State leads according to the On3.com prediction machine with a 47 percent chance.
However, even if things don’t work out with Shipp, there are some other top targets to know at the position. One is five-star Ryan Wingo. He’s taking an official visit to Michigan football next month but seems destined to commit to Georgia.
Another is Gatlin Bair, a top-100 wide receiver that runs 10.15 in the 100 and is also scheduled to take an official visit to Ann Arbor next month.
Yet, on Sunday, another top target, Elijah Moore included the Wolverines in his final top five list that also includes Ohio State, Florida, Florida State, and Maryland.
The top five is a pretty impressive list and shows that even though Moore is ranked as a three-star prospect according to the 247 Sports composite rankings, he’s a really good prospect.
The 6-foot-4, 190-pounder out of Maryland is ranked 561st overall in the 247 Sports Composite rankings but is rated as a four-star recruit according to Rivals.
Where does Michigan football stand with Elijah Moore?
Penn State was the leader according to the On3 prediction machine but the Nittany Lions didn’t make the top five. Ohio State is a team to watch and is the one program that has an official visit scheduled so far in June.
Michigan football is likely working on that and getting Moore on campus for a visit will be a positive sign for the Wolverines.
Maryland, Florida State, and Florida all make it pretty interesting too. The official visits are likely going to tell the story here for a kid that it’s pretty clear to see is better than his ranking indicates, at least according to the teams interested.
