Michigan Wolverines news: No. 1 recruit in 2025 to visit, a rankings update, and more
In our latest Michigan Wolverines news roundup, the No. 1 recruit in the 2025 class will visit Michigan football, plus some recruiting rankings updates, and more.
The Michigan Wolverines landed their quarterback of the future in five-star Jadyn Davis last month and now, we have been waiting for the impact of that decision on the recruiting trail.
Landing elite quarterbacks always helps a recruiting class. Other kids want to play with them and Jadyn Davis is certainly going to help Michigan football on the recruiting trail. He’s also going to enroll early with the Michigan Wolverines, at least according to a new report.
At any rate, the presence of Davis should attract more recruits and some of them are his teammates from Providence Day in Charlotte. Jordan Shipp and Channing Goodwin are two 2024 wideouts that could be joining the Michigan football program.
The Wolverines have been after both and now that Davis is in the fold, it wouldn’t be surprising to see them pledge to Michigan football sooner rather than later.
However, the real gem left at Providence Day is in the 2025 class and that’s offensive tackle David Sanders, who is ranked No. 2 overall for 2025 in the 247 Sports composite rankings. He’s the No. 1 offensive tackle and is 6-foot-7, 260 pounds (as a sophomore) he’s as elite as they come. 247 Sports has him atop their own Top 247 rankings as their No. 1 prospect.
Sanders is the blindside protector for Davis right now and who knows, maybe he will follow his quarterback to the Michigan football program.
According to Sam Webb of the Michigan Insider, Sanders will visit the Wolverines this summer. That will be the first time getting him on campus and that’s a good start.
New Michigan Wolverines commitment gets a ranking bump
Blake Frazier gave Michigan football fans something to be excited about with his commitment on Sunday. Then on Monday, the four-star offensive tackle got a nice ratings boost from On3.com.
The recruiting site updated its rankings for the 2024 class and Frazier was one of the biggest risers going from 275th overall to No. 209, a jump of 66 spots. Frazier is ranked 248th overall in the On3 industry rankings, as well as 207th in the 247 Sports composite rankings.
