Michigan Football head coach Jim Harbaugh has reportedly been in contact with the Panthers, plus more Michigan Wolverines news including two transfers from football.

It’s Jim Harbaugh rumor season again and frankly, it’s not a fun time to be a Michigan football fan. We thought we were done with this last February but nope, not by a long shot.

After the Athletic reported that Harbaugh would take an NFL job if offered, the Michigan football head coach reportedly talked to the owner of the Carolina Panthers, so it’s clear that there is definitely something to this.

We have seen multiple people with ties to the program such as John Bacon, the well-known author, say that Harbaugh leaving is a real possibility. The chances of him going seem to be growing by the day and there seems to be a rift between Harbaugh and Warde Manuel.

I’m not sure if there are still hurt feelings over the contract in 2020 or even last year when Michigan signed him to a five-year, $35 million extension. I said Harbaugh should have gotten a $100 million deal and I still believe that.

The football program floundered for years until Harbaugh rescued it and the idea of the Michigan Wolverines without Jim Harbaugh isn’t one I’m particularly happy about.

We’ll see what happens in the coming day but get used to Harbaugh Watch once again.

Two more Michigan football players transfer

Michigan football suffered more attrition via the transfer portal as Julius Welschof and Taylor Upshaw both announced they would be leaving the program.

Upshaw was a reserve but did see plenty of snaps this season and even caught the interception in the Ohio State game. Upshaw had 4.5 tackles for loss this season, 12 total stops, and two sacks. During his career, he had 10 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks.

Welschof was never able to carve out a role with the Michigan Wolverines outside of being a special teamer. He’s a freak athlete and if he could get some production on tape, could likely have an NFL future. He’s 6-foot-7, 266 pounds, and should have one year left of eligibility.

Michigan women’s basketball beats Penn State

The Michigan women’s basketball team was tied with Penn State going into the fourth quarter on Tuesday but a 10-0 run allowed Michigan to regain control and notch an 82-72 win. The 14th-ranked Michigan Wolverines are now 3-1 in the Big Ten and 13-2 overall.
