Jim Harbaugh and the NFL rumors are back after a report said the Michigan football head coach would take an NFL job. Yet, some have already pushed back on that.

When it comes to Jim Harbaugh and the NFL rumors, you never really know who to believe. We all thought he was on his way out the door to Minnesota last year before he returned.

At the time, Harbaugh said he would stay at Michigan “as long as it would have me.” We’ll see if he sticks to that or has changed his mind.

It would be disappointing if he did. I understood Harbaugh being interested in the NFL. He completed his seven-year deal, won the Big Ten title, and turned Michigan football around.

But after signing an extension and him saying numerous times he was coming back, I was hoping he would stick to that. We’ll see if he does but The Athletic is reporting that if Harbaugh is offered an NFL job, he will take it. “I think it’s a done deal if he’s offered,” one source said.

The Denver Broncos have reportedly shown interest in Harbaugh. The Colts could be another fit since he was the quarterback and nearly led them to the Super Bowl after the 1995 season.

Harbaugh has already said that he would be enthusiastically coaching Michigan football once again in 2023 at a press conference for the Fiesta Bowl. Again, we’ll see if that’s true or not but some have come out and pushed back against the Harbaugh to NFL rumors.

Pushback and thoughts on Harbaugh to NFL rumors

Todd Anson is known to be close to Harbaugh. He just posted pictures of the coach over the weekend, so it seems like he might have some idea.

Anson quote tweeted the article from Athletic and called it a nothing burger, telling Nicole Auerbach to, “check her sources closer.”

Eamonn Dennis, a Michigan football player, tweeted the blue cap which is a slang term for a lie or lying. If you are blue capping you are lying which seems to indicate how he feels about the rumor.

Frankly, I don’t know what to believe. I’m worried about Harbaugh leaving for the NFL. For now, all we can do is wait and hope he signs a new deal soon that locks him in as Michigan football coach for essentially the rest of his career.

I said to pay him $100 million last offseason and now it really needs to happen, like yesterday.
