Can Michigan run the football on Rutgers?

You might be looking at this question and wondering why I posed it. Well, the only reason is that last year in Ann Arbor, Rutgers pretty much stopped Michigan football in its tracks on the ground.

Rutgers was pretty much the only team all year last season that stopped Michigan’s rushing attack, as they sold out to stop the run, loading the box with eight and nine players every single play.

I’m sure Michigan has looked back at last year’s film to see what went wrong and will try to rectify the situation, but I expect Rutgers to do the exact same thing in this game as well.

The good thing is, Rutgers might not be able to load the box because JJ is a threat with his legs (something Michigan didn’t have at the QB position last year) but I’d still expect a sell-out to stop the run.

I wouldn’t bet against Blake Corum though.
