Happy Hate Week Michigan Football fans! It feels like Christmas Eve, with the state of Michigan’s backyard battle right upon us.

With the bye week, this game has taken forever to get here. But it is almost time and your Michigan Wolverines are ready! However, little brother, Michigan State is not.

The Michigan Wolverines will be facing off against the Michigan State Spartans in a primetime matchup under the lights at The Big House. Fans on Twitter have declared it an unofficial Blue Out, and even have gotten the players on board with it.

Michigan Stadium will also be giving out maize pom-poms to every fan in attendance in addition to a light show during Mr. Brightside, a fan-favorite tradition during the 3rd quarter.

The atmosphere is going to be electric and the boys are going to be on fire. I think we all are certain of one thing… Paul is coming home.

Michigan football is due for a good day against the Spartans

The beloved Paul Bunyan statue has been in East Lansing for the past two years, and we all want that to change. Especially this Michigan football team. This will be the ultimate big brother beat down on little brother and fans cannot wait.

While this Michigan State team is incredibly weak, and not good, at all, they always put in 100% effort with Michigan. This is Michigan State’s #1 priority game, their national championship. They work all season for this game. They will play their best game against Michigan, they always do. However, their best just will not be good enough.

Overall this season, Michigan State is 3-4. They have only won one conference game, which was last week versus an extremely weak Wisconsin team in double overtime. Their pass game has a 65% completion rate and 8 interceptions. As for their rushing game, they average 3.7 yards per carry and only average 106.1 rushing yards per game.

As for defense, Michigan State allows an average of 153.3 rushing yards per game, as well as an average of 269 passing yards. Michigan State’s secondary is bad, and their rush defense is as well. I fully expect J.J. McCarthy to light up the MSU defense, and Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards are going to run it down their throats.

While we all expect Michigan State to play its best game against Michigan, it is not going to be quite good enough. The Michigan Wolverines will win this game by double digits and Paul will be coming back to Ann Arbor.
