Michigan football is hosting five-star QB Jadyn Davis this weekend, as well as a trio of top-100 quarterbacks in the 2025 recruiting class for the Michigan State game.

It was only going to be a matter of time before Michigan football started building momentum once again on the recruiting trail and we are starting to see it happen.

The Wolverines just added another commitment to the 2023 class and have a number of key targets scheduled to be on campus for the Michigan State game from 2023, 2024, and 2025.

Jadyn Davis is the big name and the focal point. He’s the five-star QB that will now have visited Michigan football four times and with Georgia essentially out of the mix, U-M needs to close.

That being said, Davis isn’t the only five-star recruit on campus this weekend. There are others in the 2024 class such as five-star defensive tackle Justin Scott.

Yet, looking ahead to the 2025 class and the quarterback position, Michigan football has three, yes three top-100 QBS from 2025 set to be on campus this weekend.

Michigan football hosting elite 2025 QBs — what it means

It has been reported and confirmed that Bryce Underwood, the No. 4 prospect and No. 1 QB according to the On3 consensus rankings, will be visiting.

Underwood is from Belleville, which hasn’t been that kind to Michigan in recent years, however, Underwood is visiting once again which will be his second trip. He has also taken unofficial visits to Michigan State and Ohio State.

He’s also the No. 1 player in the state of Michigan for 2025 and after missing out on Dante Moore, the staff needs to do everything possible to get Underwood.

However, there are some other talented QBs that will be on campus from that class including Ryan Montgomery out of Findlay, Ohio. He’s ranked 43rd overall and this will be his sixth trip to Michigan. He was also at U-M for the win over Penn State.

Montgomery hasn’t visited Ohio State yet this fall, despite five trips in the past but none have come since June. He did visit Penn State last week but has said positive things about Michigan and it seems as though the Wolverines are an early leader with Montgomery and Underwood.

Michigan is the leader according to the On3 prediction machine for both QB recruits. Cutter Boley is another name to watch though. He’s going to be on campus again and the four-star QB from Kentucky will be taking a third visit to Ann Arbor.

Tennessee and Kentucky seem to be the main competitors right now and with the way the Vols have been dominating, they won’t be easy to beat out, although Kentucky is the current favorite according to On3.

It’s going to be interesting to see how Michigan prioritizes these guys. The first priority is getting Davis. Then when it comes to 2025, my focus would be on Underwood.

The state of Michigan doesn’t turn out many five-star QBs and missing out on another would be painful to watch as a Wolverines fan.

But if Michigan is able to land Boley or Montgomery, that would certainly lessen the sting.
