Michigan Football is expected to get five-star QB Jadyn Davis on campus for the Michigan State game and after Georgia took a 2024 QB, it’s time for the Wolverines to close.

The recruitment of five-star QB Jadyn Davis is heating up and it’s going to be incumbent on Michigan football to close this out sooner rather than later.

Davis has told reporters that he’s getting sick of the recruiting process. Yet, he’s been busy taking visits such as a recent trip to Clemson. He will be at Penn State this coming weekend, but will also be in Ann Arbor for the Michigan State game on Oct. 29.

That will be the fourth visit from Davis to Michigan since June. The Wolverines are the leader according to the On3 prediction machine (78 percent chance) and in what could be some good news, Georgia, the No. 2 team just took a QB in the 2024 class in Ryan Puglisi.

Puglisi is a three-star QB and while EJ Holland indicates that could take Georgia out of the mix for Davis, I’m not convinced. It could mean Georgia is satisfied or like Alabama in the 2023 class, but Bulldogs might want to take two quarterbacks.

They missed on Arch Manning in 2023 and didn’t land another QB. It’s something to monitor but the Wolverines need to close with Davis regardless.

Tennessee sounds like it will get a visit and Clemson has always been a threat. Alabama is also going to get a visit in November, so at the very least, the positive momentum needs to keep moving forward.

What about Isaac Wilson in 2024?

Isaac Wilson, the younger brother of Zach Wilson was also on campus for an unofficial visit for the Penn State game. Wilson is a top-100 prospect and he’s been in contact with the Wolverines but there isn’t an offer yet and one didn’t come this weekend.

You wonder if this is Michigan football subtly sending a message to Davis that there are other options on the board.

At the very least, the Wolverines can’t afford to let this turn into another Dante Moore situation where all their eggs were in one basket and they wound up empty-handed. Michigan football did land the commitment of a 2023 QB on Monday night actually.

However, it’s unclear if Kendrick Bell, the younger brother of Ronnie Bell, will stay at the position. He could be a wide receiver or defensive back too.

Wilson is a top-100 prospect and told 247 sports over the weekend that Michigan would be among his top schools if an offer came (it hasn’t yet). I’m interested to see if it does or if the Wolverines are able to close on Davis, making it a moot point.

Michigan football hosted another top-100 QB over the weekend (in the 2025 class) in Ryan Montgomery, who came away impressed with the Wolverines’ win.

Ohio State has the only crystal ball for him right now. Montgomery is a 2025 recruit and there is a long way to go, plus the Buckeyes landed the No. 1 QB in 2024 already in Dylan Raiola.

Maybe Montgomery will want to take his talents to Michigan and he’s another name to watch, because if the Wolverines miss on Davis, expect the full-court press on Wilson, Michael Van Buren, and also Montgomery.
