Not one, not two, but three five-star recruits will be on campus this weekend as Michigan football is set to host Michigan State.

The weekend keeps getting bigger for Michigan football in terms of recruiting as the visitor list continues to grow with elite prospects.

Many of the biggest names are in the 2024 class and one of those names is five-star quarterback Jadyn Davis. His visit was confirmed after being reported by a bunch of outlets.

As we wrote when it was first reported, it’s huge for Michigan football to get him back for another game (he was also at Hawaii) and the fourth time since June.

Georgia always worries me — just look at Chris Peal and just because the Bulldogs took a four-star quarterback recently in 2024 doesn’t mean they will totally back off. Clemson is still in the mix too and Alabama is waiting in the background.

It should be noted though that in terms of the Bulldogs, Davis recently said, “I wish Georgia all the best.” That makes me think Georgia is out of it and that Michigan has a real chance here.

While it’s going to be important for the Wolverines to close this weekend with Davis or sometime soon, he’s not the only big-time recruit visiting Michigan football.

More five-star recruits visiting the Wolverines for Michigan State

EJ Holland tweeted that a five-star wideout was going to visit this weekend and it’s Ryan Wingo out of St. Louis Missouri. He’s ranked 16th overall in the 2024 class according to the On3 consensus rankings and is 6-foot-2, 198 pounds.

Wingo is a Notre Dame lean according to the On3 prediction machine right now but getting him on campus, especially for this game and with Davis also visiting is a really good move.

We’ll see what kind of impact it makes. A bunch of other big-time programs are also in the mix too such as Ohio State, Texas A&M, Penn State, and the usual customers. The Irish have done well in St. Louis but Michigan is trying to expand its foothold in the area and landing Wingo would surely help.

And late on Tuesday night, EJ Holland also tweeted out that another five-star visitor will be on campus for the Michigan State game and that’s 2024 defensive tackle Justin Scott.

Scott is 6-foot-5, 310 pounds, and out of Chicago, Illinois. Notre Dame normally does really well in that area but it’s no secret that the Irish have struggled while Michigan is undefeated and ranked in the top five with 19 wins in 21 games.

This is going to be another interesting battle. Alabama just entered the mix with an offer and Scott also visited Miami. Obviously, the Hurricanes are struggling but it’s also hard to know how much of a factor NIL will be or how Michigan can sell Scott and other elite prospects on its NIL philosophy.

That being said, Michigan does seem to have figured things out more on the NIL front. There is still work to do but it’s not as big a hindrance as it used to be. At least that’s how it seems.

Michigan also hasn’t landed a five-star since NIL really got going and whether that is Davis or another five-star on campus this weekend or Nyckoles Harbor, it would be nice to see that drought end.
