Both Howards will make an impact

Hunter Dickinson talked about the potential impact of Jett Howard on Wednesday saying that is an “NBA player” but Jett isn’t the only Howard who’s going to play a lot of minutes this season.

Jace Howard is someone that isn’t talked about enough in terms of the 2022-23 Wolverines, but he’s going to have a key role to play coming off the bench, especially as a defender.

Jace is 6-foot-7 and listed as a guard. However, he’s also played some small-ball five before, meaning he could easily see minutes at the two, three, or four. He’s a combo wing who can move up to the four or essentially play as a two.

The fact that he was representing Michigan at Big Ten Media Days shows what kind of role he’s expected to have. He’ll bring leadership, toughness, and defense, which needs to be better than it was last season if this team is going to contend for a Big Ten title.
