Final notes on 2023/2024 targets

Zayden High is another big-time target for Michigan basketball in the 2023 class. He’s a 6-foot-9 forward out of Texas and is ranked 55th overall in the On3 consensus rankings.

Michigan coaches are going to be visiting him this week. He also took an official visit to Ann Arbor over the summer but Villanova and North Carolina are each in the mix. It’s a tight race, Michigan is sitting at 31 percent (and leading) according to the prediction machine, but this one is hard to read.

The Wolverines are right there, but it’s hard to feel confident calling them the favorite.

Another 2023 target that has re-emerged recently is four-star forward Eric Dailey. It’s a name Michigan basketball fans have likely heard before. He’s re-classified to the 2023 class and will play at IMG this season.

Dailey is 6-foot-7, 215 pounds, and ranked 55th overall. He’s a talented shooter and would be a solid fit for just about any roster. There was some thought he would play pro ball overseas instead of college but he included the Wolverines in his top 8 recently that also included Florida State, Kansas, Kentucky, Memphis, Michigan, Oklahoma State, TCU, and Texas A&M.

At this point, there is no clear leader and if some other priority targets don’t work out, Dailey could be an ideal target for Michigan basketball in 2023.

One recruit Michigan basketball already has committed is 2024 point guard Christian Anderson, who led team Germany to a team title in 16U European championships and averaged 16 points per game in the process.

Howard Eisley is going to see Anderson and it was also reported that he’ll be taking an official visit to Michigan soon, so the Wolverines seemed solid with their only 2024 pledge.
