Michigan basketball projected as the early leader for John Bol

We all know that Juwan Howard has a way with big men. He proved that while he was an assistant coach for the Miami Heat of the NBA and now with the Wolverines.

Howard really helped improve the game of Jon Teske down low the one season he got and the development of Hunter Dickinson has been impressive to watch. Dickinson deserves credit for all the hard work, but Howard knows what he’s doing in terms of player development.

So it shouldn’t be shocking to see Michigan basketball emerge as an early favorite for 2024 five-star center John Bol.

Bol just came to the United States about a year ago and the 7-foot-2 center is already one of the top recruits in the 2024 class. He’s ranked No. 21 overall and third among centers.

He took an official visit to Michigan basketball last weekend, which is a big deal. Howard can point to his track record with big men, plus, he does a great job as an individual recruiter, so you know he’ll be building that relationship with Bol.

No other elite programs have really entered the mix at this point. Michigan has its offer in and the Wolverines also have an 83-percent chance of winning his commitment according to the On3 prediction machine.

It’s early and there will be other threats sure, but Michigan is putting itself in a really good position early to land the five-star big man with a huge upside.
