Andrel Anthony

From the moment Andrel Anthony scored that opening touchdown against Michigan State, you knew he was going to be special.

It’s wild that he was only a three-star recruit according to the 247 sports composite rankings because he’s got a chance to be one of Jim Harbaugh’s best receivers. He just looks like a No. 1 and his blend of size, athleticism, and playmaking ability is something to behold.

Ronnie Bell is going to lead Michigan football in receptions this season. But receiving yards is an area where I could see Anthony pushing him for the crown. He’s a big play waiting to happen and he’s going to see the ball much more in 2022.

The one thing holding him back a little is that Michigan is so deep at wide receiver. Cornelius Johnson is an NFL wideout and also led the team in receiving yards last season, plus Roman Wilson is a proven deep threat and A.J. Henning is dynamic too.

That doesn’t even touch on outstanding freshmen such as Darrius Clemons. But Anthony is going to make a name for himself in 2022 and he’s going to have multiple games with over 100 yards.
