Will the new Offensive Coordinators go away from what works?

What got Michigan football over the proverbial “hump” in 2021, beating Ohio State and winning the Big Ten? Running the ball and playing complementary football between the pass and run game.

With former OC, Josh Gattis departed from the program (now heading up the Miami Hurricanes in the same role), will new OC Sherrone Moore and co-oc Matt Weiss change things? That remains to be seen.

But he would be wise not to rock the boat.

For the first time in the Jim Harbaugh era, the boys in winged helmets have an offensive identity. Don’t change things now.

Being that Weiss is from the Baltimore Ravens coaching tree — an offense predicated on running the ball from all backfield positions — one would think things won’t change too much, especially since Moore was coaching the offensive line last year.

Nonetheless, a drastic change in scheme, or moving away from what worked in 2021 would be something fans want to keep their eyes on in the offseason.
