3 bold predictions for Michigan Football on defense in 2022
By Josh LaFond
Bold Prediction #3: Rod Moore is an upgrade at Safety.
Before you say that I’m slandering Daxton Hill. I’m not.
Hill played all over the field at outside cornerback, in the nickel, and at both safety positions. Rod Moore is not that player.
What Rod Moore is, though, is a strict safety who has an insane amount of football I.Q., the ball skills of a receiver, and the tackling ability of a linebacker.
Listen, we appreciate everything Brad Hawkins did here at Michigan. But it isn’t slanderous to say that Moore will be an upgrade over him.
Moore showed his IQ when he made the right play against Penn State, popping star Nittany Lion receiver Jahan Dotson as he came across the middle. That play very well could have saved the game and in turn the season.
Michigan football fans should be very excited for the emergence of Rod Moore’s first season as the starting rover.
My bold prediction: 25 tackles, 3 interceptions, 1 forced fumble, All-Big Ten honorable mention.
