Dante Moore took his unofficial visit to Michigan football on Friday and he seemed to be having a good time but will it move the needle?

For the third time since February, Michigan football hosted Dante Moore on an unofficial visit Friday and while we don’t have any intel on how the visit went from Moore’s perspective, he certainly seemed to be enjoying himself in Ann Arbor.

Moore’s recruitment has been closely followed as the five-star QB from Detroit has been the top target on the Wolverines’ board for the 2023 recruiting class. He’s ranked eighth overall according to the On3.com consensus rankings, as well as fourth among quarterbacks.

The 6-foot-2 quarterback isn’t necessarily a dual-threat, but he’s got an elite arm and he would be a perfect fit to eventually take over the starting job from J.J. McCarthy down the road.

There were some images of Moore’s visit that made the rounds and here’s a look of Dante donning the Maize and Blue at Michigan Stadium.

EJ Holland, who covers Michigan football for The Wolverine, reported that Moore told him that he was “Having a good time” on his visit. Moore also sent a photo of his new hat.

And while it’s hard to pick out Moore in this photo, it sounds like Dante also attended Michigan baseball’s come-from-behind win over Rutgers Friday too.

Will this visit move the needle?

Moore’s recruitment has been hard to get a read on. Notre Dame is considered the leader and is the top team according to the On3 prediction machine at 39 percent. Michigan football is currently in fifth at just over four percent but that number should be rising soon.

The fact is that Moore has been to South Bend once this year. He’s been to Ann Arbor three times and while he hasn’t taken an official visit to either, I don’t know that he needs to take one to Michigan because of how many times he’s been there overall.

Jim Harbaugh has been recruiting Moore since he was an 8th-grader, and he needs to turn things around in this recruitment just like he did with Donovan Edwards and Will Johnson.

We’ll have to wait and see the impact of this visit but it seems like Michigan has a clear shot to make headway.

Moore said he wants to visit Texas A&M and he really likes Oregon too, plus LSU is also involved. But the Wolverines can’t be counted out either.
