In their first public spring game since 2019, the 2022 iteration of the Michigan Wolverines look to showcase their new-look defense and a dynamic offense that will carry them to new heights.

What an opportunity the spring game presents. The 2022 Michigan football team has the chance to show its offseason work on the field, with the benefit of fans getting to see it in person and broadcast on television.

Coming off arguably their best season since 1997 which saw a national title, these Michigan Wolverines look to come back better and stronger this season.

GBMWolverine’s own Christopher Magnum laid out what to look for in the spring game, but what do we expect to happen?

Let’s get into it.

Prediction #1: Junior Colson will lead both teams in tackles

Junior Colson has proven himself as the man to watch in the middle of the defense. Coming off a fantastic freshman season, the sky is the limit for Colson’s potential donning the maize and blue.

The spring game should be no different.

Expect Colson to fly around the field making plays in all three phases — pass rush, run support, and coverage.

Junior is capable of doing all of these and clearly has the potential to be one of the best Michigan football linebackers in recent memory. With a defense that lacks surefire studs, Colson is the early favorite to become the next superstar on that side of the ball.
