2. Michigan’s defense couldn’t stop Johnny Davis’s penetration

Johnny Davis made a living slashing through Michigan’s defense. He had a game-high 25 in 37 minutes. He went 65% from the field and showed why he is one of the frontrunners to be the Big Ten player of the year. Michigan refused to double team him and he made them pay for their defensive breakdowns.

All five of Wisconsin’s starters broke the double-digit barrier including Brad Davison. He sparked some controversy like he normally does when he elbowed Hunter Dickinson in the gut in the first half. Dickinson didn’t fight back and Davison’s squeaky clean image outside of the basketball court can remain intact.

On the hardwood, he is a menace. His actions over the years have proven just that. Everyone in the Big Ten knows about his reputation and Wisconsin just embraces it.

It’s hard to believe that the Badgers don’t get in more confrontations like this with him on the roster. Gard can defend him all he wants, but you have to be blind if you don’t realize the facts about the way he acts by now.
