3. Howard deserves repercussions but didn’t initiate the sequence of events

This is the one takeaway that will linger on for a long time or at least until they meet again. With 15 seconds left and the outcome already well in hand, Wisconsin called a head-scratching timeout that made Juwan Howard wonder what was unfolding before his very eyes with Wisconsin up by a convincing 15.

Howard then told his son to foul the Badgers on the ensuing possession to prolong the contest out of spite. Next, the postgame handshake line formed and Howard thought about not joining it for a moment but chose to do the right thing and get in on it.

Once he met up with Greg Gard however, Gard stopped him to give him a piece of his mind about what went down in the waning seconds.

The rest is infamous history that will be forever etched in this rivalry’s record books. Gard fueled the flame by explaining his side of the story.

Next. Juwan Howard just can't be fired. dark

Howard wanted none of it and then made the wrong choice to put his hand on a Wisconsin assistant. A couple of his players followed suit and mayhem ensued. What follows next is anyone’s guess, but both sides are at fault in this uncalled-for tussle.
