5 things to watch as Michigan Football opens spring practices
New faces
Michigan football isn’t a team that adds many transfers and is bringing in just one so far for the 2022 season in All-American center Victor Oluwatimi from Virginia who is expected to take over the starting job left by Andrew Vastardis.
Five-star cornerback Will Johnson is an early enrollee as well as guys like Keon Sabb, Darrius Clemons, Tyler Morris, Amorion Walker, Myles Pollard, Kody Jones, Mason Graham, and others.
It’s not going to be easy for incoming freshmen to crack the lineup but Johnson probably has the best chance to be a freshman starter. He’s already practiced some with the team prior to the Orange Bowl and it will be interesting to see how he handles himself this spring.
Keon Sabb is another guy that seems like he would have a chance to play next season and how quickly these defensive backs and wide receivers such as Tyler Morris and Clemons adjust this spring could help determine how much they are able to contribute in the fall.
