Running back

Starters: Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards; Bench: Tavi Dunlap, C.J. Stokes

Blake Corum burst onto the scene last year and if he hadn’t gotten hurt, he likely would have joined Hassan Haskins in getting over 1,000 yards rushing.

Yet, Corum still averaged 6.6 yards per attempt and scored 11 touchdowns. He also caught 24 passes and together, he and Donovan Edwards shouldn’t miss a beat.

The running game will be different of course and Michigan football would still like a big, physical back like Haskins. Tavierre Dunlap is a running back I really liked in the 2021 recruiting class and he reminds me a little of Haskins and unless U-M adds a back in the portal, he should get his chance along with freshman C.J. Stokes.

Sort of like quarterback and really like most of the last season at running back, it’s going to be a 1A and 1B situation. Edwards and Corum will both be viewed as starting-caliber players this season and each will be a focal point of the offense.
