3 things we learned in Michigan Basketball’s win over Maryland
2. Hunter Dickinson is quietly one of the best players in the country still
Ever since Michigan suffered its few losses, and dropped out of the top 25, Hunter Dickinson’s name has not been dropped around nearly as much as it should be. Dickinson’s averaging 16, 8, and two a night shooting at 60% which is fantastic.
While he’s not the best, and don’t confuse the title for that, he’s still up there in that conversation. Kofi Cockburn, the alleged best big man in the country is averaging 21,11,1. Yes, better numbers and he probably is the best big man in the country but that still doesn’t shy away from the fact that Dickinson’s numbers are still competitive with Kofi’s.
Again, to reiterate I am not saying he’s the best, but he’s for sure in the conversation for one of the best players. Dickinson is still playing at an All-American level after some poor performances early in the year.
One underappreciated facet of Dickinson’s game is that he is pretty consistent when it comes to how he performs.
With the exception of a few games, Dickinson is still averaging high-end double-digit figures in the best conference in college basketball.
Take that as you want, but he’s still one of the best players in the country.
