2. Michigan football will win the turnover battle

One reason Iowa has a chance to win this game is that the Hawkeyes really excel at forcing turnovers. The Hawkeyes have forced 2.3 turnovers per game this season and that was a huge factor in the team’s win over Penn State earlier this season.

But the trouble for Iowa is that Michigan has committed the fewest turnovers in the Big Ten and turns it over just 0.8 times per game.

Cade McNamara is especially good at taking care of the football. The third-team All-Big Ten selection threw 14 touchdowns and just three interceptions, plus a fumble.

But he hasn’t had a turnover in consecutive games all season and I don’t see it happening on Saturday. McNamara was extremely sharp after his interception against Ohio State and I expect him to prove he’s a championship quarterback Saturday night.

The offense will take care of the ball and take away one of the Hawkeyes’ best chances of pulling an upset by not making mistakes.

Even if there is a turnover like the one last week or at Penn State, as long as Michigan isn’t giving away points and turning it over multiple times, it will be mission accomplished.
