Pass rush terrorizes Tagovailoa

Tagovailoa is Maryland’s best chance to win the game. He’s a big-time talent and has a bunch of 300-yard games to his credit. But, like most quarterbacks, he has struggled against pressure and Maryland is 9th in the Big Ten in sacks allowed.

U-M ranks just fifth in the Big Ten in sacks, which shows that some stats are meaningless because if there is a pass rush better than Michigan’s in the Big Ten, I’ve yet to see it.

Aidan Hutchinson and David Ojabo have both been playing like first-round picks and dominated last Saturday in Happy Valley. Something similar will happen Saturday. Both players will register multiple sacks and Michigan gets five total.

Even if Hutchinson and Ojabo don’t hit those numbers, they are going to force Tagovailoa to throw under duress and that will lead to some mistakes and turnovers. Those things have hurt the Terps all year and they will once again on Saturday against Michigan football.
